The 101 Groundbreaking in South Wrigley: July 2025 Project Brief

On July 2, 2025, Long Beach marked the start of construction of The 101, a 52-unit affordable housing development in South Wrigley. The announcement described permanent supportive housing for people experiencing homelessness or at risk of it.

What the city announced

The project is at 101 E. Pacific Coast Highway. The city said Jamboree Housing Corporation would develop the five-story building with furnished residences, shared outdoor space, laundry facilities, and offices for resident services and property staff. Those details describe the project at groundbreaking; they do not establish its current construction status.

The development combines housing with onsite case management and access to support resources. That is the practical distinction for readers following this project. It is not evidence that nearby rents, business activity, or property values will change.
